Question: When trying to create  a mailbox or when using other functions with Exchange 201X you get the message, that WinRM is not available.

Answer:  ADO++ uses Remote Powershell  functions managing Exchange 201X. The remote function is by default disabled on Exchange 201X Servers. To enable the feature, start a Powershell on the appropriate Server and enter the command Enable-PSRemoting. Enter an A for doing all tasks of the command.

Question: When trying to create  a mailbox or when using other  funktiones with Exchange 201X you get the message, that the name "Enable Mailbox" wasn't found as a name of a cmdlet.

Answer:  The ADO++  user must have the appropriate permissions  in the  AD/Exchange-Infrastructure. In this case these permissions  are missing. To get the permissions , add the user to the  RBAC-rolegroup "Recipient Management". You can do this with ADO++ or alternatively with the ADUC. A Domain Administrator has the permission to do this.

Question: You get an error message when the installer  tries to register a DLL in the registry?

Answer:
Under Windows Vista and Windows 7, it is not possible to register a DLL as local administrator with UAC (User Access Control) switched to on. This happens when the setup wants to register the DLL for the terminalserver  support. You can ignore this error during installation, first and continue the installation. Register the DLL manually after the installation has completed. First, you must turn off UAC:

Start->Control Panel->User Accounts->User Accounts->Turn User Account Control on or off->Uncheck the checkbox

Register the dll with the command:

Regsvr32  (Installpath)tsuserex.dll

Question: Are there differences between the use of ADO++ on 32 or 64 bit systems?

Question: Can I use ADO++ in addition to other tools for user management?

Answer: Yes, the simultaneous use of ADO++ and all the other tools available (Exchange Management console, ADUC, Powershell) other third party tools is no problem. However, only the changes done with the full version of ADO++ are tracked  in the ADO++ database.

Question: Do I need to install the Exchange2007-management tools on the computer that runs ADO++?

Answer: If you want  use all features, the answer is yes. Without the management tools you can not:

Create Mailboxes
Move mailboxes
View Mailbox Statistics
Change Mailboxtype

As you can see, most functions can be performed without the management tools.

Question: Can I use ADO++ under Windows 7?

Answer: On a Windows 7 computer, you can not install the Exchange 2007 management tools. Therefore the use of ADO++ has the same limitations like an  Vista or XP system without installed Exchange 2007 management tools.

Question: Should ADO++ users be members of the Exchange Recipient Administrators  group?

Answer: The Exchange Recipient Administrators group has very extensive rights to administer Exchange objects. Members can e.g. give any other user Full Control rights on a mailbox, mount the mailbox in Outlook and view the contents.

Alternatively assign  the "Full Control” rights on objects to be managed in the Active Directory and add the ADO++ user as a member of Exchange View Administrators. Then the ADO++ user can not modify the mailbox rights. He can do almost everything, except:

Creating Mailboxes
Move mailboxes

If the ADO++ users shall also perform these tasks with less rights in your Active Directory and your Exchange organisation, the ADO++ to full version with it’s use of a special service account may be a good choice for you.
